Bastin & Fils is a tannery specializing in vegetable-tanned leathers using traditional techniques from the region. Since 1981, the company has been owned by a well-established French shoemaker and exclusively produces sole leather. While sole leather is the main product, some tanned leather is also supplied to the market for small leather goods.

 

WILDSWANS has successfully secured a new batch of leather for small leather goods. We sold out of a limited edition item before, but some of them are still available in stock as gems. This latest release includes a model that sold out quickly before.

 

The tanning process takes about one year. After three months of soaking in a tannin solution, the hides are submerged in an outdoor pit tank and layered with crushed oak bark. This traditional method has been used for over 200 years and produces leather preferred by shoemakers.

 

When considering options for both casual and professional needs, it’s worth looking into these five popular models: MORRIS, kf003, WINGS, GROUNDER and BYRNE. Each model offers unique features and styles that cater to different preferences and occasions.

 

The MORRIS is a foldable money clip with a single pocket that can be used as a cardholder.

 

Inside the folded section, there is an extra pocket for easy access to cards and other items. It is also designed to be slightly enough space to neatly store more bills.

 

kf-003 is one of the models in the collaboration series between CORBO and WILDSWANS. It is an item designed with attention to every detail to enhance its feel and durability.

 

The flap is shaped at a different angle from the bottom, making it easy to open and close. It is also designed to allow you to distinguish the top and bottom simply by touching them.

 

The interior consists of a bill compartment, and the bill compartment has been adjusted so that bills do not protrude easily and can be smoothly inserted and removed by making the center of the bill compartment a mountainous shape.

 

We can see a super elegant and smooth edge on this model, whether it is colored black or colorless. The brand is featured prominently on the edge.

 

The WINGS model, which has existed since the early days of WILDSWANS, is a simple wallet with a bill compartment and card slots. Because of this, you can enjoy the presence of the leather and the beauty of the cover, which is a characteristic of WILDSWANS.

 

 In addition to the six card slots, cards can be stored together in an L-shaped pocket on the back side of the card slot.

 

The bill compartment is a simple one-chamber structure, and the length of the compartment is generous, so you can smoothly insert and remove banknotes, and you can also store tickets and other long items together.

 

GROUNDER is an all-in-one wallet that can hold bills, coins, and cards. It is recommended as an entry model for WILDSWANS because it is intuitive to use from the very beginning.

 

On the left side of the interior, there are three card slots, and on the back side, there is a fold-over pocket that can hold all of your cards at once.

 

On the right side of the interior, there is a flap-type coin case with a card pocket on the back side of the coin case.

 

The inside of the bill compartment has a movable divider to keep the bills separated and to prevent them from losing their shape.

 

The BYRNE is a medium-sized tri-fold wallet with high storage capacity. It has five card shelves and three card compartments (two compartments on the left and right side of the back side of the card shelves + one compartment behind the coin case), so many cards can be stored.

 

The large-capacity coin case has a partition where you can also store cards. The coin case is separate from the main body, and when seen from the side, the main body and coin pocket overlap, creating a beautiful two-layered cover.

 

Using two hooks and the exterior flap, even if you put a lot of coins in the coin case, they will not spill out.

 

The wallet is designed to securely hold coins without spilling, and the bill compartment is large enough to conceal banknotes completely. The wide space also allows for easy access.

 

Bastien & Fils leather has a champagne color and is more supple than sole leather, retaining firmness and elasticity. It is extremely strong with a sturdy surface that resists tearing. The production process begins on the farm, selecting hides for quality and suitability. The leather is tanned using vegetable tannin from chestnut trees in Italy and quebracho trees in Latin America, taking about one year.
